Great interview Archie. That's exactly the type of publicity this club needs. Well done!

Hey Archie, why don't you invite people to come to Nowra to check out the racing, and then invite them into the pits for a good look at the cars after the meeting. I don't know where this radio station is, but you could well get a few people interested enough to come have a look. It's great that you've been given the opportunity to promote the club again. See you next Saturday.

G'day Archie and Garry! Great news about the continuing race coverage...you've got a voice for radio....and legs for showbiz LOL! sounds like he was pleased with your presentation...i think your did a great job as well... you gave me some more insight of the racing scene that i wouldn't have known with all the different new talent joining the club lately. I must say that everybody looks to be aligned quite well talent wise....this is going to be a competitive season! How much does it cost to see one of your meetings at Cullen Bullen? Here's some ideas You may consider: a ticket give away thru the radio station? Do you have parades and festivals and car shows and events like that? I'd try to get your Quarter Midgets into the public eye as much as possible..... I love your NSWQMA logo with the car graphic. you may consider putting Darren's Slogan underneath it "Little cars... BIG FUN!!!" for advertising/fliers/posters/t-shirts? Give people a price range and the reality of close competitive and Fun family orientated racing and I'd hope they'd want to be a part of it! another idea is to get as many fresh eyes to the track to see you in action as possible.... Maybe work with the schools to do a special field trip. I look at it this way you get a load of school kids to Cullen and even if they get in free... kids eat ...the track will make money on food....50 new kids buying snacks are 50 more kids than you may have had before. that should pacify the track owners .? If even one of those kids and or their parents catch the fever to race or simply to follow the club then it was a success. ... build your fan base.. the radio spot is HUGE!!!You've already got me from the other side of the world!!!! hopefully you'll get a few more fans from your side of the globe!! I'm excited to SEE some awesome racing!!!!...BRENDON!!!! Best of luck to all you drivers!! and everyone else involved !! From Iowa at -14 deg. C. (why the hell do i live here?) Rod

God Lightnin, how do you put up with -14deg c. Here in Sydney, if it's really cold in winter we might get down too zero in the far western suburbs, and about 4or 5 in the city itself. Sydney is having a cold wet summer at the moment, and we're down to about 17deg.c as a minimum. Mind you, Cullen gets cold in winter, but nothing like -14. In fact, Cullen just barely gets cold enough for occasional snow buts it's rare and it doesn't stay on the ground long. We, as a club do occasionally have our cars on display at Sydney Speedway, but the new owners are not as easy to get on with as previous owners. The problem with getting people to Cullen is geographical. Zero public transport and it really is off the beaten track for all but the most dedicated of followers. This Saturday night we should be racing in Nowra, a coastal town about 2 hours south of Sydney. It's a tourist town at this time of year and does draw a reasonable number of spectators. Hopefully, weather permitting, we can put on a good show and attract some attention to our club. I say weather permitting, because once again the forecast is no good and were facing yet another washout. Nowra is also a tough track for our little cars because it is pure clay. We can only wait and see. Talk to you again after Nowra.

G'day all. The weather here is really getting stranger by the year..normally the ground is covered in snow in november early december by the latest. It keeps showing up and staying later by the year. Today it's raining and 40 deg. fahrenheit and rumored to hit 50 within a few days...unheard of in december....some guy was mowing his lawn when i left work yesterday talk about weather mood swings! I've figured out that there's a 16 hours time difference between us but i don't know if i lag or lead by date? I see your point about Cullen being isolated..too bad ...it has nice potential as a race track if location wasn't killing the crowds. That being said it still does bring in the racers .. i think that says a lot about the facility. Nowra looks to be pretty slick when she gets glossed over and very heavy over the cushion.....probably double the cars weight with clay if you get too high up LOL!! I don't suppose all the rain you've been getting is gonna help matters either...I'll do a little anti-rain dance for you guys! Bring lots of tear-offs! Best of luck everybody!!! Lightnin' Rod

Morning Rod. Our weather here is also weird. It seems to me that all our seasons are moving with summer starting later and as a consequence all our seasons seem to be later. I'm sure the climate guys would deny it but that's just how it seems to me. To have to wear a warm jacket to go to the speedway in December is just plain weird. Nowra is, on it's day, a very fast racetrack. The racing surface actually stays fairly consistent through the night, and because of the divisions that race there, doesn't build up much of a cushion. But boy, it is fast in our cars if it's not to rough. For things like Midgets and Lightning sprints or Late Models, it's really quick. We'll see what Saturday night brings. The forecast has certainly improved so now it's just wait and see. Oh, yes you are about 16 hours behind us. As I right this it's 6.15 Thursday morning and I'm about to go to work. Garry

G'day Garry. I always felt that i was a little behind....but 16 hours!! LOL! I watched some better vids of Nowra and you're right it looks quick. I think the earlier vid i saw was a night that followed a rainy spell. The track will be smooth , fast and the weather will be fine cause i did the no-rain dance for ya! Good luck at Nowra! oh yea, take it easy on the new drivers..LOL! Can't wait to see the results! Lightnin' Rod

G'day all! Today your time... tomorrow my time is my 42nd Birthday!(I'm mentally sending everyone there a piece of cake and ice cream)
I saw a card once that really touched my heart and would be really fitting right now...it said "Aren't you glad you're not as old as you look!"
since I turned 40 I've gained 10 pounds and lost 10 cm of hair line!!
It's hard to be sexy when you're old , fat and balding but I'll keep it up for as long as I can (No pun intended...ah what the hell I'll say I meant that as well!) Cheers...Lightnin' Rod

Happy Birthday Rod. 42 is just a kid.Wait tll you get to my age. Quarter Midgets are just about the only thing keeping me from booking myself into an old people's home. Hope you enjoy your day and someone gives your nice birthday presents (or maybe you can buy yourself something you'll enjoy.) Garry
