G'day!!
Garry I' think those lottery tickets we've been payin' for are better off bein' used as toilet paper....cause they ain't worth a crap!!!! As for the politicians...they'd be better off bein' ground into lottery tickets...cause they ain't worth a crap either!!!

One thing for sure that binds us all together is the B.S. of politics and politicians... too bad cause I'd hoped that Australia was free of the governments idea of "Freedom" that plagues us in the U.S.
I wish we didn't have that as a commonality...sometimes it's easier to put your fingers in you ears and say lalalalalala....the more i know and see into politics the less joy my life has...ignorance is bliss,eh??

We should all go to Archies facebook page and watch "Always look on the bright side of life!!!" that"ll bring us out of any gloom we might feel from time to time!!

glad to hear about the progress on the new "Todd Racing" enclosed trailer. did you start from scratch or redo one you've had already?
The bit about Brendon reminds me of a little Haiku poem that machinist mate 2nd class Minick wrote about machinist mate 3rd class Esalink when I was in the Navy (FYI a rack is a bunk bed on a ship) it goes like this..."There once was a man named Link,Who was a bit of a kink,He'd lay in his rack,and scratch his crack,until his finger would stink!" LOL that used to piss him off! I can still hear them two fighting in the machine shop over that one! LOL !

Ya know I did 6 years in the U.S. Navy and I never swam in the ocean! SH SH SHARK! I am in awe and fear of especially Great Whites....and you folks seem to have a lot of 'em!! got any good stories to share? Are they really that big of a deal? or are they like a wasp... leave it alone and normally it 'll leave you alone?

Afternoon Rod. Mmmm,sharks. Not really an issue despite what you read. Rule number one. Don't swim at dawn or dusk. That seems to be the time when most shark attacks occur. Rule number two. Sharks don't swim in my swimming pool and so I have no real concerns about getting eaten. Let's face it who is a fish out of water when it comes to the ocean. I know it's not the shark. On to better things. What a fantastic night we had at Nowra on Saturday. A truly fantastic race meeting. Clean, close, safe racing that kept what for Nowra was a big crowd, on their feet. The track would have been perfect for quarter midgets. Oh well, we can only hope the track is that good next time we race there. I have my motor back and on the car, although I haven't had a chance to fire it up yet. It should be fine though. As for beating Cruz. Thats a pretty big call. His car is arguably the best quarter midget in the country.those fancy jiggers in W.A. Wouldn't see which way it went. It was built by the guy I went to Nowra with and he is a true craftsman. In fact he can do things I would never have thought possible. That car cost about $10,000 to build and is truly state of the art. He offered it to me at a fantastic price but at my age I decided it probably wasn't a great investment. It should be beatable at Cullen Bullen but its highly unlikely that anyone could beat it at a track like Nowra. There is actually another chassis all bent up, ready to be welded together, but that's the cheap bit. It's all the custom made running gear that costs the bucks. If Cruz crashes this one it will really cost him. My Micro has finally arrived from Indiana. It only took seven months, and it's much better than I'd hoped for. It hasn't been raced for about seven years and whilst the motor was winterized at the end of the cars last season, the rest of it looked like it had just come of the track.Lucky Customs didn't spot the car or it would have cost me a small fortune to have them clean it. We're going to do some work on it this weekend, and see if we can fire it up. After that, it's just a matter of deciding whether we keep it and race it, or sell it and try to make a buck.

Remember don't swim at dawn or dusk, unless it's in your pool.

Garry you make a real valid point 'bout the whole shark thing..stay out of the ocean and no problem. But... what about my second biggest fear ...bath water fart bubbles!!!LOL
Glad ya got to see a great show at nowra and that there was a great crowd to support the drivers too!
what's the cost to ship something smaller like a t-shirt or something to your neck of the world from the US? I imagine the shipping cost of the micro was as painful as stepping on your own sack( you know your family jewels fight a losing battle with gravity on a yearly basis) the village elders are probably recognizable by the length of their sack!! ;D (That's some d**n good comedy right there..my grandma would be proud of my work!)
Doesn't Priest drive a micro from time to time?
Indiana loves their open wheel racing! I've never been there but i did have a conversation with Steve Kinser at the national collegiate wrestling championships. His boy wrestled for the university of Indiana and my nephew Matt Fields wrestled for the university of Iowa. they were in different weight brackets so they didn't wrestle each other. Steve signed a couple of auto graphs for me and was very nice to talk to when he could hear what i was saying...his wife said to me "he's deaf! he can't hear very good anymore!" lol ! listening to a big 'ol 410 over the years would tend to tear up the ears a bit!!
Dan's probably got a good idea of somebody who could drive that micro for ya...you know... if you ever were to find yourself being a car owner just happening to be in need a young ,broke, new home owner, blood relative,almost as handsome as the ol' man, driver.

G'day Rod,
Another day over,and another 300 KLS under my belt. I like your suggestion about Dan driving the Micro. Actually it's half his and the main reason I went in with him to buy it was to see if it would give him some incentive to get fit.Im not really interested in racing the car. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks and I think that fits me perfectly. Besides, I'm not going to buy a Hans device just so I can race a Micro. They are mandatory in virtually all open wheel divisions in this country. A Hans would cost more than we paid for the car. I can sure understand anyone who has been round a sprint car for a long time being deaf. It doesn't matter how much you try to protect your hearing, the noise is always gonna win out. I guess it's a lot like being in a heavy metal rock band. The noise ultimately gets you. The Micro Pete has was a car I bought for Mitch when he was just 14. That was a very costly exercise. We were blowing an engine a week until we finally found the problem. The parts guys at the local Suzuki joint reckon I was their best ever customer.Pete bought it of the people we sold it to but hasnt raced it much. In fact he gave it to a guy to do some work on it 2. Years ago and still hasn't got it back. He keeps saying he's going to get it but I think he's just too busy with his shops.
