Congratulations to Darren Cartwright on winning the Australian Title last night.
At this stage not sure on the placings.
Darren Salmon had a very challenging night with a tyre coming off rim in heat 1,
fouling plug in heat 2
Heat 3 saw Darren show his true potential with a great drive to work his way to the lead and then pull out almost a half lap on the field until a collision with a lapped car put him out of the race. and in doubt for the feature.
To the West Australians credit , help came from everywhere with seven or more West Aussies helping work to get the axle replaced and other damage repaired and the car back on the track.The start of the feature was delayed a significant amount of time (started 1 am there time) to allow Darren a chance to make the line up.and the repairs were completed only for the car to then fail to start with a starter problem.
Darren was extremely dissapointed at having "one of those nights" But blown away by the help he received from the WA Quarter midget fraternity,The track was fantastic. and apparently a great surface well suited to his car.
